Greenhouses provide the ideal, controlled environment to grow all kinds of vegetables and plants all year round. The main function of a greenhouse is to secure the ideal levels of humidity and heat, which can be generated from either sunlight or an alternative source.
Glass greenhouses are expensive compared with other greenhouses and are suitable for large-scale ecotourism parks. The glass greenhouse has beautiful appearance, smooth visual flow, strong wind load capacity and large displacement, and is suitable for areas with high wind and rainfall.
Greenhouse Glass Options
Traditional Greenhouse glass are 3mm or 4mm tempered glass ,the advantage is cheap and higher light transmittance,high strength to offer impact resistance.
To guarantee the best quality greenhouse glass,recommended largest sizes are:
Low iron glass light transmittance is 2% higher than clear tempered glass which allows more light transmit glass.
Because of the existing of Nis in clear float glass,there’s glass spontaneous breakage possibility.
Bad quality float glass will have high possibility of self explosion and bring trouble to your greenhouse.Replacement will be big problem while the most important is the temperature cannot be controlled well with broken glass.
Low iron glass self breakage ratio is only 10% of clear toughened glass,because of low iron content.

As there’s always some shields caused by the greenhouse structures,and lights,more and more growers select diffused glass in their new built greenhouse glass,There is no shade, the light distribution in the greenhouse is more uniform and thus also the height of the plants. In addition, there is no direct radiation to the crop.even the smallest ray of sunshine was optimally distributed and the available light was used to the full.Thanks to this advantage,the unit production efficiency is around 10% higher than other normal greenhouse.
There’re 3 abailable diffused glass patterns:Mistlite,Nashiji,Suede.according to project location,glass Haze ratio changes from 5% to 75%.
AR coated glass or AR coated Anti-Reflective Glass is also known as enhanced transmission glass or anti reflective glass.
The features of double side AR coated glass:
- The highest visible light transmittance is 98%.
- The average reflectance is less than 3%, and the lowest value is less than 0.5%
- High temperature resistance.
- Increase the uniformity of the greenhouse climate, particularly temperature and light conditions
- Increase fruit production (by five to ten percent) of high-wire tomato and cucumber crops
- Increase flowering and decrease production time.

Personal or household greenhouse, conservatory use insulated glass instead of single piece tempered safety glass,the main consideration of this kinds of conservatory is :thermal insulation and high light transmittance.
